Biography

From runner to researcher to producer and director, Simon has been working in UK television production for twelve years. He has worked on over 40 different programmes and series made by companies as diverse as the BBC, NBC, Granada, London News Network, Discovery and Living TV. These range from peak-time formatted observational documentaries, through six-part documentary runs to entertainment news and specials. Plus, nearly 100 editions of that daytime ITV stalwart This Morning. To date, Simon has not worked professionally in comedy or drama, or in feature production, but the ambition is there!

Simon is fascinated by film & TV, and has a good affinity for programmes involving archive material. His specialist knowledge applies across all the British studios, from Pinewood and Shepperton to Elstree and Ealing. Also the major British TV companies ranging from the BBC to Granada and Thames. Favourite genres are comedy (Ealing, Boulting Brothers, Carry Ons) horror (Hammer, Amicus, American International, Universal) and sci-fi/fantasy.

On a voluntary basis, Simon occasionally writes articles and features for websites such as The Mausoleum Club. Last year, its Gazette published Simon's 1994 interview with Van Der Valk & Frenzy star, the late Barry Foster. A series of interviews with the cast and crew of the 1971 BBC drama series Last of the Mohicans is due in the new edition.

Originally from Kent, Simon has lived in London since 1994. His hobbies include photography and website design.
